Before the remodel, the kitchen felt dark and dated, weighed down by heavy finishes and an inefficient layout. The dark tile countertops and backsplash absorbed light, making the space feel smaller and more closed in. The reddish wood cabinetry, though solid, dominated the room and clashed with the dark grout lines and slate-like surfaces. The placement of the desk area under the stairs was awkward and wasted valuable storage potential, while the mix of flooring materials visually broke up the space. The window treatments and bulky cabinet design further emphasized the room’s dated aesthetic. Overall, the kitchen lacked cohesion, brightness, and flow—feeling disconnected from the home’s beautiful architectural features like the arched openings and high ceilings. The remodel addressed all of these issues, transforming the space into a light-filled, open-concept kitchen with clean lines, modern cabinetry, and a timeless palette that now feels fresh, functional, and cohesive with the rest of the home.
